All the lecturers at Maastricht Academy of Music are full-time professionals. These creative talents have well and truly earned their spurs in the world of jazz and pop music. They are performing musicians, dedicated to maintaining a busy concert schedule. They are responsible for creating, composing, arranging and playing music, producing CDs, devising curriculum ideas on behalf of Maastricht Academy of Music and teaching students. The head of the Jazz/Pop department is Jan Formannoy.
