\ Alexander Boerner
Bass guitar
Alexander Boerner (Germany, 1963) joined the Maastricht Academy of Music in 1993. He lectures in Jazz/Pop Bass Guitar. Alexander Boerner started his musical career in 1970, when he decided to study piano and subsequently violin (1975) and double bass (1981, studying under Günter Klaus and others). He graduated from Hilversum Academy of Music, the Netherlands, in 1992, majoring in Jazz Bass Guitar (Minor: Double bass). He pursued his studies under Marcel Schimscheimer, David de Marez-Oyens, Theo de Jong, Victor Kaihatu and Ruud Ouwehand. He has participated in workshops organised by John Scofield, Albert Mangelsdorff, John Patitucci, Lincoln Goines, Chuck Rainey, Linley Marthe and Richard Bona. Alexander combines his passion for Jazz with regular performances in Funk and Soul Bands. He is also a regular contributor to theatre and musical productions.
