Quality
Maastricht Academy of Music believes that quality is of paramount importance. As part of our continuing commitment to quality, we enlist the services of external specialists to teach our programmes and to undertake assessments. Our lecturers share their knowledge and expertise with foreign and Dutch colleagues.
Current developments in the Netherlands and abroad are monitored and implemented in the curriculum. The programme additionally encourages knowledge development (through publications such as Muziek Leren (2005), Dansspetters (1999, 2003), Muziekstrategie (2005). Lecturers venture out into unexplored territory, publish articles in periodicals (including Kunstzone) and are involved in (inter)national symposiums and conferences.
In addition to inter-faculty collaboration with Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht [Dutch: Academie Beeldende Kunsten] and Maastricht Drama Academy [Dutch: Toneelacademie], the Music in Education department works in close partnership with the Neurology Faculty of Maastricht University.
