Artistic and technical development
The core of the degree programme is your artistic/technical development. The main subject of your specialisation is at the centre of this. You will have individual main subject lessons combined with ensemble activities (taking part in ensembles and projects) and international orientation (masterclasses abroad, summer courses, Erasmus activities).
Personal and professional development
All fields meet in your personal and professional development. We consider you to be a musical personality, capable of introspection. You can make the right choices in your ongoing musical development. You and your profession are central. You are largely responsible for determining the content and course of your own studies.
You will make your choices concrete in your personal development plan, which describes how you want to achieve your final qualifications and how you will realise your personal and professional development. During your studies, we will guide you through these personal development plans.
At this level of education, you are required to develop research skills. Directly linked to your artistic development, you will do a research course, aimed at the musical profession and/or musical practice. Research will be an important part of your studies. You will develop research skills, carry out research and present the results in a musical context. You will work on research into a subject of your own choice together with a coach. Students with the graduation profile 'performing with the emphasis on research' will give more weight to their research.
During your Master's studies, you will learn to position yourself socially. We will offer you lectures and workshops to give you insight into the organisation of artistic institutions and the way they operate. The subjects discussed will include Music and Law and Marketing.
Communication and collaboration
During your Master's studies, you will learn to present yourself and your ideas. The lectures and workshops offered will deal with written and oral presentations.
Education: deepened methodological, didactical and pedagogical knowledge
(only for those who have chosen this graduation profile)
You will acquire deepened methodological, didactical/pedagogical and educational knowledge. You will gain useful insights and skills, enabling you to contribute to specialist music education and art and culture education. For each of these fields, concrete learning objectives have been set down in a programme description, listing both the content and the instructional and test formats.
