Each year, students of Maastricht Academy of Music participate in the following projects:

  • Wind orchestra [Dutch: Blaasorkest]: major bi-annual event staged at various venues, featuring international performers

  • Coup Maastricht: Academy students participate in this Cultural Festival of Maastricht. COUP is a joint venture between Maastricht Academy of Music, Maastricht Drama Academy [Dutch: Toneelacademie], the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht [Dutch: Academie Beeldende Kunsten] and the Academy of Architecture Maastricht [Dutch: Academie voor Bouwkunst]. This two-week event is staged at various locations around the city, including AINSI, Conservatorium, Landbouwbelang, Theater aan het Vrijfthof and Bonbonièrre. COUPopera is a major feature of this annual event. (2008: The Rape of Lucretia).
  • Final exam projects: includes co-production with Opera Zuid and the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht [Dutch: Academie Beeldende Kunsten]
  • Festival: This festival is held each year in April, and comprises a week-long series of concerts culminating in a performance at Theater aan het Vrijthof
  • Chamber Music projects organised by students of the Master of Music programme
  • Lentejurkfeest: annual "Getting Dressed for Spring" project, organised by various art faculties in Maastricht. This event celebrates the arrival of spring and the creation of a new spring dress for the fictional girl in the “Berenkuil” in Maastricht's Aldenhofpark
  • Music Award Maastricht: each year in early April, Maastricht Academy of Music organizes a Concours for students in partnership with Rotary Maastricht. The first prize is €4,500. The festival is a mixture of singing, piano and violin.
  • MTG project: major collaborative project: this orchestra is made up of students from the Maastricht, Tilburg and Ghent Academies of Music.
  • Master classes (previous master classes featured Fjodir Drushinin, Henryk Mikolaj Górecki, Roberto Benzi, Andrea Lieberknecht, Leo Brouwer, Jakob Slagter, Hakon Austbö, Corinna Palm, Petru Munteanu and Elly Ameling).
  • Opera: various opera projects in partnership with Opera Zuid and other institutions. The 2007/2008 season included a performance of ‘L’enfant et les sortilèges’ .(www.euregiokinderoper.net)
  • Parcours: Maastricht Academy of Music is a major contributor to the Parcours Festival, which kicks off the cultural season each September
  • Workshops showcasing a diverse range of themes

  • DVD about the life of Vincent van Gogh in partnership with the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam
  • Festival based around the theme of Synthesists: This festival comprises a week-long series of concerts culminating in a performance at Theater aan het Vrijthof
  • Chamber Music projects organised by students of the Master of Music programme
  • Music Award Maastricht 2009: each year in early April, Maastricht Academy of Music organizes a Concours Award for students in partnership with Rotary Maastricht. The first prize is €4,500. 2008’s programme is devoted to the Violin.
  • MTG project: major collaborative project consisting of an orchestra made up of students from the Maastricht, Tilburg and Ghent Academies of Music.
  • Master Classes run by Leo Brouwer and others
  • Opera Project in partnership with Opera Zuid

  • Carré Amsterdam as part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Queen Beatrix and Princess Margriet
  • Music Award Maastricht 2008, dedicated to singing (www.musicawardmaastricht.nl)
  • MTG project: major collaborative project: this orchestra is made up of students from the Maastricht, Tilburg and Ghent Academies of Music.

  • Stravinsky Festival: week-long festival in honour of what would have been Stravinsky's 90th birthday, in partnership with LSO and Theater aan het Vrijthof
