This component requires no specific preparation. The primary purpose of this exam is to assess the candidate's communicative abilities, reflective and analytic skills and musical adaptability in addition to his or her theoretical and practical skills.
These skills are tested during the interview sessions of the theory and practical examinations. The candidate will additionally be required to participate in two 45-minute workshops:
- The first workshop is dedicated to ensemble performance: during this workshop, the candidate is given an unfamiliar instrument and asked to perform it as part of an ensemble. The purpose of this test is to assess the candidate's ability to adapt and learn.
- The second workshop is devoted to music in movement: this workshop emphasizes movement and communication in relation to music. Candidates are asked to bring along loose-fitting clothing and suitable shoes.
